Job Title : Business Analyst Senior
Accountable for leading subject matter experts (SMEs) and product management partners in the elicitation, analysis, representation, validation and sign off of Business, User, System Functional and Non-Functional requirements. Accountable for crafting the detail level requirements (Business, User, System Functional and Non-Functional) in for features and epics.
Summary:
As a Business Analyst, you will dig deep into the business to help define the details of how to drive business results through technology! This includes partnering with the different business partners and digital product managers in Risk Servicing, New Business, Wealth Management, Marketing, Compliance, and others. You will work on a multi-functional team of product managers, engineers, vendors, brokered teams and authorities in an agile methodology to deliver on outcomes.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Business Expertise: Partners with peer group, business partners, and product management to learn business area/domain, while continuing to learn and grow.
Research and requirements gathering: Using your technical skills, business skills and analytical skills, you will be able to help uncover requirements then translate those needs into user acceptance criteria for the business and engineers.
Documentation & Organization: You are able to coordinate and help maintain roadmaps, upcoming epic, features, and stories, knowledge documentation, and release documentation through clear & concise documentation skills. With these skills you have the ability to bridge gaps between the business, product, and engineering teams.
Agile Practice: You will work with the scrum master and other BAs and scrum master on partnering teams to help facilitate ceremonies and assist the team in keeping to the agile standards that the teams have defined.
Problem Solving: You love the challenge of diving into problems and discovering root cause. You are able to balance between investigating and asking for assistance as needed.
Systems: Assist with task-based work items in the needed tool sets to drive visibility, communication and prioritization among the teams.
Testing: You can assist with coordinating and reviewing test plans for outcomes. You can independently provide execution on testing as needed, (UAT, checkouts, etc.). Along with this testing coordination and execution, you have the willingness to learn testing methodologies and automation.
Product Management: Ability to use product management principles to optimally complete and advance work as needed.
5 plus years of experience is required for this role.
This role will be a business analysis on one of the five Insights teams (Field/Distribution Insights Reporting using Microsoft Power BI/ Microsoft SSRS/APIs)working closely with digital product managers in other parts of the enterprise to deliver their data insights, dashboarding, paginated reporting, and data API needs, as part of the digital consumer and employee experience visions they are accountable for. In this role, the BA will facilitate, document, and partner with the product managers for the intake, requirements gathering and initial design of new features. Then, help the product manager shepherd that process through the agile software development cycle with the Insights team to develop, test, release, and support these features. As an embedded member of the Insights engineering team, you'll be asked to help facilitate and implement agile processes as our Insights team evolves from a product (centralized internal teams build features) to a platform (decentralized internal and external teams collaborate to build features with an oversight structure).
What are the must haves for this role?
5 plus years of experience is required for this role.
Proficiency working with Microsoft collaboration tools (I.E. scheduling meetings in Outlook)
Prior experience gathering requirements and working with agile/scrum software development teams
Prior experience working in an scrum/agile software development methodology
Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
Ability to adapt to a changing environment
Prior experience interpreting business requirements to user stories and testable acceptance criteria
Ability to help manage a backlog of features and stories and ensure work is in a ready to develop state
This role is set-up for remote WI, with the expectations that this role will be required to come on-site for 2-3 days a week.

Industry domain knowledge of consumer Life, Disability, and Long term care insurance products
Industry domain knowledge of consumer Investment, wealth management, and financial planning products
Industry knowledge of Investment and wealth management products and the vocabulary and business process of selling and supporting those with consumers
Certifications demonstrating proficiency in role specific competencies
Experience with Microsoft Power BI capabilities (or similar products)
Experience with Microsoft SSRS capabilities
Experience Wireframing (especially visualizing data I.E. Reports or Dashboards)
