Job Description
SUMMARY

Transcripted Credit instructors teach a college course in their high school and students who successfully complete the class earn college credits. This application is for consideration as a Transcripted Credit Instructor, and is not for employment directly with Gateway Technical College.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ability to work the required hours for the position.
Each department/area will require specific skills and abilities. It is the responsibility of the high school teacher to review and discuss the requirements of the position for which they are applying.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED IN THE POSITION

Qualifications

High School Teachers:

To stay within the guidelines of the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) Gateway Technical College has set certain guidelines that high school dual credit instructors are expected to maintain. Please click here to review Gateway's Instructor Qualifications policy.


Please note that per HLC guidelines, instructors teaching a General Education course must have a Masters Degree in the content area they teach or any Masters Degree with 18 or more graduate credits in the content area or discipline in which they teach.

  1. High school teacher must be employed as a secondary school instructor in a K-12 district within the Gateway Technical College.

  2. Hold a Bachelor's degree in the content area that you are teaching, or a Bachelor's of Education in the content area that you are teaching plus substantial tested experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a non-related content are with no less than 14000+ hours of work experience. Please note that General Studies courses require a Masters Degree in the content area or a non-related Masters Degree with 18+ credits in the content area.

  3. Copy of official college transcripts are required highlighting related degree awarded and date conferred (Required at time of application)

  4. Most current resume highlighting relevant work and professional non teaching experiences.

  5. High School teachers must hold a current DPI license. (Copy required at time of application)

  6. Any additional certifications if applicable.
