Process Technician
The basic function of the Electronic Process Technician is to program, operate, and maintain the electronic circuit board assembly equipment. Duties will include preventative and corrective maintenance on this equipment. Additional duties may include the completion of all forms, reports, and other documents as required.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Program, operate and maintain the electronic circuit board assembly equipment
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives as necessary to procure replacement parts
  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of electronic circuit board manufacturing equipment and systems
  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling electronics units, applying knowledge of electronic theory and components
  • Procure parts and maintain inventory and related documentation
  • Keep informed of production schedules and activities in order to meet deadlines
  • Complete all forms, reports and documentation as required
 
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years electronic process technician
  • At least one year of programming SMT (surface mount technology) equipment
  •  
Qualifications
Must have knowledge of:
  • Printed circuit boards, electronic components and basic printed circuit technology assembly procedures
  • Hand or power told used in the assembly of printed circuit boards and the proper use of these tools
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming
  • Knowledge of machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Workmanship acceptability requirements and industry standards such as IPC 610
  • The procedure for the safe handling of electronic components or assemblies
  • Electronic component terminology, placement and markings
