Title: CNC Turning Center Operator 
 
Description
The CNC Turning Center Operator is responsible for the set-up and operation of turning centers.  Operator will set-up and be able to run production parts to satisfy customer’s requirements.  This position reports to and is accountable to the CNC Supervisor.
 
Quality Assurance
By adhering to instructions and procedures, customer satisfaction can be maintained. 
 
Essential Position Duties
Operate CNC lathe effectively so as to produce parts in a timely fashion.
Complete setups based on setup sheets and work routings
Monitor production parts and maintain cutting tools to satisfy the customers’ quality requirements.
Adjust offsets accordingly, as needed, to maintain part tolerances through the use of various measurement gages.
Maintain a clean and presentable work area.

Physical Demands
The ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds for up to eight (8) hours per day.
The ability to bend and lift up to forty (40) pounds between floor level and a height of six feet six inches (6'6").
The ability to stand and walk on concrete for up to eight (8) hours per day.
Manual Dexterity: The ability to use hands to manipulate objects (i.e. replace tooling, etc.).
Quality Assurance: The ability to perform visual inspection of work material to ensure quality standards.
 
Mental Demands
Education: High School graduate or equivalent experience.
Language Skills: Ability to communicate with all levels, provide oral and written instructions/directions and understand oral and written instructions in English.
Reasoning Skills: Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic shop math and measurements.  
 
Job Skills Required
Ability to use calipers, bore gages, and other various gages for inspection.
Ability to follow company designated processes through the use of setup sheets and work routings.
Basic troubleshooting skills to determine possible solutions for problems which could occur during a machine setup or production run.
The ability to meet the attendance standards as stated in the company attendance policy.
