Job Description
Website Copywriter/Editor
The Lakeland College a liberal arts institution seeks qualified candidates for the position of website copywriter/editor. Reporting to the director of marketing, the ideal candidate will work in a collaborative, team environment with interactive media, marketing, communications and graphic design.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Copywriting for the website, email blasts and some printed materials
  • Editing of materials submitted by others into a consistent tone and style
  • Continuous monitoring of all website pages for accuracy, persuasiveness, freshness and brand consistency
  • Participation in the selection, production and coordinated use of still images and videos
    Position Requirements
  • Three to five years experience in copywriting, preferably for the web
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, communication, journalism or advertising/marketing
  • Experience working collaboratively with interactive media, marketing, communications and graphic design 
  • Strong organizational, time management and communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Proficient computer skills   
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language including grammar and spelling
  • Exceptional attention to detail and an experienced sense of design
  • Ability to extend existing brand concepts visually and in writing\

Previous experience in writing for the web, and selecting web visuals is preferred.
