Stano Landscaping was founded by Matthew (Matt) M. Stano in 1963. The company, which began as a part-time lawn and landscape maintenance service, was incorporated in 1971 and has become one of Milwaukee's largest landscape contractors. Stano specializes in residential and commercial landscape design, construction and management. Like many landscaping firms in the Midwest, Stano Landscaping is also a snow and ice control contractor during the winter months, servicing more than 200 commercial accounts in the greater Milwaukee area. The company's headquarters are located on Milwaukee's northwest side. The facility includes an administrative/sales office building, a warehouse and a holding yard for plants and bulk landscape materials on a three acre site. Stano currently employs approximately 50 full-time people year-round. During the course of the landscape season, an additional 50 seasonal and part-time employees join the team.
