The attorneys of Petrie + Stocking today have a direct connection to a proud tradition of over a century of legal service for the Greater Milwaukee community.

It all started in a modest law office in Room 18 of the former Mack Block building, amid the horse-drawn wagons, trolleys and cobblestone streets of the city's bustling downtown. The accompanying images highlight a few key dates from the years that followed, as the firm grew on the strength of its commitment to exceptional client service.

Today, Nelson Petrie's son Jim is our firm's chairman and most senior attorney, and his granddaughter Laura is a shareholder. Meanwhile, Lewis Stocking's son John remains our second most senior attorney.

Given these strong links to our roots, perhaps it's fitting that Chase Tower, where our firm has practiced since 1974, stands on the same site where our original office in the Mack Block building once stood. We're proud of our legacy, and we're determined to continue serving the people and businesses whose legal needs have inspired us all these years.
