History:

In 1955, the Kresovic family began operating a 22-bed skilled care home on the corner of 6th and Lapham in Milwaukee. As the need for additional quality care services in the community became apparent, the family decided to expand its operations. In January of 1971, Cameo Care Center opened on 27th Street in Milwaukee with 112 beds to provide skilled care in a family, home-like environment. Over the past decades, the long term care needs of the elderly and the sick have changed. The need for alternatives other than skilled nursing was recognized by the family. As such, the family decided to expand Cameo Care Campus to assisted living. In May 2006 Cameo Care Court opened with 20 assisted living units.

We sincerely respect our residents and their rights to privacy and dignity. We foster a sense of community among staff and residents.
