Join us as our new QC Lab Technician
This position works under general supervision and is primarily responsible for testing and evaluating if products meet both internal and industry specifications. This is achieved by using both standard and customized laboratory equipment, and industry compliant procedures for a Food Manufacturing Facility.
In this role you'll make an impact by:
- Actively participates in all internal safety programs and adheres to all relevant safety guidelines
- Performingall required in-house quality control testing on samples for approval and in accordance with written Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions, etc.
- Performing routine equipment calibrations or verifications (e.g., scales, pH meters) in compliance with testing and production parameters
- Conformingto and promotes all stated and implied food safety protocol in accordance with regulatory standards and guidelines, including, but not limited to, FDA guidelines, GMPs, internal certification standards, etc.
- Coordinating nd performinginoculation of seed material inoculum used in large scale fermentation
- Utilizingaseptic techniques to ensure sterility of all media, equipment, and work area
- Keepingdetailed and accurate records in appropriate company database (SAP, LIMS) of all conducted tests, evaluation, and analyses
- Keeping detailed and accurate records of training received
- Completingassigned production journals, batch records and/or lab requisitions
- Communicatingany testing nonconformance to relevant stakeholders e.g., QC Management, PMG, QA, Production, as necessary
- Assistingwith training and onboarding of staff in areas of attained proficiency
- Actively participates in all internal Continuous Improvement programs and KPIs (Kaizen, Metrics, Lean, 5S)

- Ability to read and comprehend documents such as Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and Equipment Manuals
- Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from colleagues, other departments, and auditors
- Ability to perform and interpret Basic Mathematical functions
- Ability to adapt and use Critical Thinking tools when Problem solving
- Ability to develop a Continuous Improvement mindset in support of an established companywide culture
- Ability to interpret testing results and follow SOP document for appropriate action
- Ability to operate a variety of lab equipment and instruments, and a variety of office equipment upon completion of training
- A working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and compliance requirements
- Intermediate Level proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Office, Word, and Excel
- Ability to use metric volume measurements (e.g., mL) and temperatures measurements in Celsius (C)
- Ability to perform basic dilution series on product in accordance with specifications or recipes
- A Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field or years of full-time experience in a laboratory environment.
