There are up to 3 positions available in total.
DIRECT SERVICE (50-60%):
1) Primary responsibility is to provide access appointments over the phone and in person for students seeking services. This includes risk assessment, service evaluation, and collaborative decision making. At times, brief interventions may also be used;
2) Other responsibilities may include:
a. Facilitate the referral of students from UHS to mental health care and resources in the community, as clinically indicated;
b. Provide care management for students including for those involved in other UHS services: psychiatry, behavioral health, and counseling;
c. Consult with UHS staff regarding resources and community referrals;
d. Assist students in understanding their insurance benefits or connecting them to insurance resources;
e. Assist students in obtaining access to resources including food, housing, and financial supports;
f. Provide follow up, support, and advocacy as needed to students who have been referred to the community; and
g. Provide other services such as individual, couples, and/or group therapy; on-call; or other clinical services to meet agency need.
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES (40-50%):
1) Maintains accurate and timely documentation for all clinical interactions and consultations.
2) Serve as needed on multidisciplinary teams within UHS and on the campus.
3) Involved in the development and implementation of programs and services related to access/triage and care management for students.
4) Collaborates with providers and staff in UHS units and with campus partners;
5) Follows agency policies and procedures consistent with state mental health statutes, ethical guidelines, best practices, HIPAA, and FERPA;
6) Attends staff, and workgroup meetings;
7) Attends Mental Health sponsored professional development activities;
8) Other duties as assigned.

Preferred:

2) Experience identifying resources within in-network and out-of-network insurance plans;
3) Demonstrated skill in working well under time pressure to prioritize and manage multiple tasks;
4) Demonstrated attentiveness to intersectionality & health disparities, and a commitment to continued development of cultural competencies;
5) Experience as a collaborator on a multidisciplinary team;
6) Administrative and technological skills required to effectively document in an Electronic Health Record.
Required:
LPC - Licensed Professional Counselor or LMAFT - Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Must be LPC OR LMAFT licensed, license eligible, or be able to obtain a license to practice independently in the state of Wisconsin within one year of hire.
