Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Variable shifts, variable hours as needed. Per Diem position. 8 or 12 hour shifts.

  • Performs basic and intermediate computed tomography (CT) procedures under the direction of the Radiologist.
  • Competently operates CT equipment to perform basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures. Procedures include basic imaging processing, body, head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, contrast, orthopedic and extremity.
  • Obtains medical history from patients and compares requisitions to physicians' orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Positions patient and selects proper scanning factors, adjusts factors to attain the appropriate images, and provides radiation protection and safety in accordance with regulatory agencies.
  • Prepares and administers contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist, and assists in the proper scanning techniques. Provides measurements and additional slices for accurate interpretation with direction from the Radiologist.
  • Post-processes images as directed and accurately identifies and labels images identifying patient name, medical record unit (MRU) number, and location or position of scan on all images.
  • Prepares and maintains records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enters patient and study information into the radiology information system, and documents billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
  • Identifies equipment performance issues and performs equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures. Reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff and evaluates new products and equipment.
  • Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.

Scheduled Hours

Variable shifts, variable hours as needed. Per Diem position. 8 or 12 hour shifts.

Licenses & Certifications

Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin, and

Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and

Computed Tomography (CT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) needs to be obtained within 18 months, and

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months.

Degrees

Advanced training beyond High School that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and basic radiation safety. Competent in IV and venipuncture (if required by facility).Excellent communication, interpersonal and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients and other staff members. Ability to work independently. Intermediate computer skills. Certification AddendumTeam members will maintain annual educational requirements for hospital based certifications (e.g.DNV, CARF or others).
