primarily 12-hour shifts, some 8-hour shifts as necessaryevery 3rd weekend as needed, every other holiday

3MESG is a true adult only Medical/Surgical Unit.  

At South Shore 3MESG cares for the majority of surgical patients.  

We see a wide variety of ortho and general surgeries, like total knee replacements, bowel resections, lap choles, and amputations.  

We also get a wide variety of medical patients, like alcohol withdrawal, pneumonia, anemia, DKA, you name it!  

You will see a very diverse population with many different diagnoses.

Our average daily census is 25 patients, with our unit being 33 beds.  

 

It is fast paced, busy, and diverse, which makes 3MESG a great unit to work on and if you haven’t heard already “it’s cooler at the shore"
