Position Summary, Requirements, and Qualifications
Overview | The NIU STEAM Educator delivers instructional, curricular and professional development activities for NIU STEAM. This includes developing curriculum in high-quality, standards aligned STEAM content and delivering instruction in and out of the formal classroom environment in areas like afterschool programs or camps, including some evenings, weekends and summer. Professional development activities are delivered to K-12 educators in partnership with districts and in stand-alone conferences and workshops. |

Position Summary | This STEAM Instructor will be primarily focused on instructional tasks – curriculum development, delivery of instruction, assessment and evaluation in STEAM content areas, using instructional strategies like problem-based learning, growth mindset, career connections, interdisciplinary pedagogy, essential employability skills and STEAM content. Most of the position is spending time in front of various audiences delivering instruction to adults, K-12 students or community members. Some of the position will be in STEAM curricular design and small amount of work in assessment. The position is a non-tenured, instructional outreach position that will require some travel to connect our STEAM expertise to our learners. |
