Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Full time working Monday – Friday 11:00am -7:30pm with possible one hour flex to start/end time. Call requirements are every 7th day and 7th weekend with holiday rotation. Person will float to Aurora Kenosha, Aurora Mt Pleasant, Racine Surgery Center, Pleasant Prairie Surgery Center and Labor and Delivery at Kenosha.

Functions as Surgical First or Second Assistant to the surgeon for complex and basic operative or invasive procedures. Responsible for performing a variety of procedures or may specialize in a surgical specialty where appropriate. Performs responsibilities of a Surgical Technologist if required but preferably not at the same time while functioning as first assist.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), and
  • Surgical Technologist (CST) certification issued by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) needs to be obtained within 12 months unless department leader has determined it is not required, and
  • Surgical First Assist (CSFA) certification issued by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) needs to be obtained within 12 months unless department leader has determined it is not required, or
  • Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) issued by the National Surgical Assistant Association (NSAA) needs to be obtained within 12 months unless department leader has determined it is not required.
