Description:

Continuous Improvement (CI) Projects

* Evaluate existing packaging along with inbound pallet utilization to identify opportunities for improvement

* Develop scope, help prioritize and execute appropriate projects within package design, assembly process or distribution areas

* Investigate opportunities for logistical cost savings

Operational Support

* On-site packaging support in factory as required including: quality reviews, process improvements, and countermeasure implementation

* Interact with packaging suppliers (manufacturers) to obtain concept drawings, pricing and lead times

* Review packaging first article samples to ensure match to specification

* Review packaged part samples provided by the part supplier to support production

Specification Management

* Review and approve packaging specifications

* Provide maintenance and data auditing as needed

* Load packaging specifications into computer systems

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Educational Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering or a related Engineering discipline with packaging experience.

Experience Requirements:

* A minimum of three (3) year experience in packaging, packaging-related manufacturing or distribution engineering roles is desired.

* Requires the ability to work within groups, reaching consensus on realistic, specific goals and objectives and to work within the group to prioritize those objectives.

* Must demonstrate the ability to work with people in order to gain group commitments to goals and objectives.

* Requires excellent oral, written, listening and comprehension skills, analytic problem solving and planning skills.

* Must be able to effectively present information to a broad range of organizational levels.

NOTE: Travel is expected to be no more than 10%.

1-2 days expected in the office after training.

$35/hr.+
