You will be working with a group of engineers within NM's Service Request Center (SRC) domain of the Insurance & Client Advocacy Experience group, building high-quality applications used to help our clients service their products.

To support our growing team, we are seeking a hardworking Java-based application developer, who is passionate about writing code that meets business needs, and who wants to learn front-end frameworks and become a full stack engineer.

We are looking for the following skills:
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional client-server application and web development experience is required

  • Java skills (3+ years' experience) with a proficient level understanding of Java 8 or later required

  • Experience writing Unit tests using JUnit

  • Experience with AWS technologies and services

  • Experience with DB technologies; SQL/no-SQL, e. g. MySQL/MongoDB

  • Experience with Git repositories and git CLI, familiarity with GitLab or GitHub

  • Understanding of TDD, OOAD, multi-threaded applications and distributed systems

  • Understanding of RESTful protocols, design, implementation, and testing

  • Understanding of security and compliance principles and implementations

  • Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and receive and provide constructive feedback

  • Ability to explain technical solutions to technical and non-technical staff

Some nice to have's:

  • Understanding and prior experience working in an Agile Scrum based project team

  • Experience with Jira, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Twistlock

  • Experience with Dev Ops, specifically with the AWS tech stack and GitLab CI pipelines
