Astronautics is seeking a Technical Product Owner to join our Connected Aircraft Solutions group. The qualified candidate will utilize strong communications skills to take input from the customer, while working with project architecture, leadership, and the development teams to prioritize work based on value. The Product Owner must rally the teams through positive and optimistic attitude, and be capable of detailing the usage of product features such that the teams can work independently to meet the needs of the stakeholders. The candidate will be responsible for the scheduling of the product features and reporting on the team's sprint progress.

Technical Product Owner Responsibilities:

  • Provides purpose, direction, and motivation to members of the team in alignment with objectives established by project architecture and our customers
  • Prioritizes a high standard of quality, performance, and applications and services owned and supported by the team
  • Design of product features in support of feature refinement by the teams, as well as solution definition and decomposition into stories
  • Works with the leadership team to prioritize work to ensure features are completed and deployed by dates committed for product deliveries
  • Manages each project's scope and timeline
  • Interacts with Astronautics customers to understand technical aspects of the product as well as propose new product line features
  • New opportunity proposal support

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in product development within an engineering environment
  • A working understanding of Agile development frameworks
  • Ability to effectively communicate with product, engineering, and business partners, including proven ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Must have excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a U.S, citizen or a U.S. permanent residence card holder

Desired Experiences:

  • Product Owner certification (CPO, PSPO, CSPO, or equivalent) is a plus
  • Familiarity with ARP 4754A systems design architecture experience
  • Familiarity with RTCA DO-178B/C software assurance processes
  • Familiarity with airborne connected servers a plus
  • Experience in safety-critical industry (e.g.: aviation, automotive, medical)
  • 3 years of experience working with modern software engineering tools, languages, and practices.
