Blood Processing Technician (Union)

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly attention to detail focused individual to work in this fast paced environment. Blood Processing Technicians daily responsibilities include the manufacturing processes from receipt of unprocessed blood through shipment of finished goods to area hospitals while performing these tasks in highly regulated environment. Successful individuals will have a high level of customer service focus as well ability to provide compassionate care to both internal and external customers at all times.

Shift: 2nd shift, Full Time

Hours: Tuesday- Saturday, 4:00 pm - 12:30 am

Training: First 4 - 6 weeks; 1st shift, Monday - Friday

Pay Rate: $17.15 hourly rate plus applicable shift differentials.

Blood Processing Technologist - Responsibilities

  • Process, store and distribute blood products to meet the quality and quantity for patient's use at area hospitals.
  • Perform data entry, review computer and manual records to assure accurate record keeping associated with production, labeling, storage and shipping.
  • Be detail oriented all day, every day, to ensure that the blood you process meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused.
  • Remain flexible to work a variable schedule that includes weekends & holidays to meet the needs of our hospitals.
  • Drive for results and to serve others with a high level of respect for customer service.
  • The aforementioned responsibilities describe the general nature and level of work and are not an exhaustive list.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • The position requires standing, stretching, stooping and bending for extended time periods. You will need to lift, pull, push and move objects up to 50 pounds. You may work in walk-in refrigerator/freezers for periods of time.
  • Blood Processing Technicians working in Distribution or Plasma Sample Management positions may require a valid driver's license.
  • Experience in a regulatory, laboratory or manufacturing setting is preferred.
