Job Description:
- Works in conjunction with Doctor/Surgeon to perform the duties required for providing post op care for orthopaedic patients.
- Performs a variety of duties in the evaluation, treatment planning, and management of patients with in the Ambulatory Surgical setting.
- Works independently, self starter
- 10hr shifts for 23hr extended care unit
- Assesses patient status and identify each individuals needs relative to his or her situation.
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
- Current State Licensure/Certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience on a Med Surg / Ortho Floor, ICU experience preferred
- ACLS required at hire
- Able to work independently
- Manage immediate post-op care patients and provide discharge teaching
- ASC experience a plus but not required.
- Orthopedic experience preferred.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Teamwork and flexibility are absolutely necessary to meet the needs of our patients and team members.
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Possess skills necessary to admit pre-operative day surgical patients, manage immediate PACU patients and provide discharge teaching.
