Overview

BigBear.ai is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to serve as the company's IT Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. The successful candidate will help evaluate, design, implement, and protect the company's cloud environments including AWS, AWS GovCloud, Azure, AzureGov, and the use of and/or integration with third-party SaaS offerings. BigBear.ai is a growing company specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of IT Operations and Compliance, the IT Security Engineer, and the Chief Information & Data Officer. The successful candidate not only will have relevant experience with AWS but also will have a strong understanding of a major security compliance framework or regulation.

What you will do

  • Evaluate, design, implement, manage, monitory, & protect the company's cloud development environments
  • Work with relevant stakeholders in the company to develop and document cloud operating procedures and policies
  • Create and maintain clear and concise documentation of the preferred solutions, templated solutions, and deployed solutions

What you need to have

  • Demonstrable experience with AWS or AWS GovCloud
  • Experience with AWS Organizations including OUs and SCPs
  • Experience deploying, managing, and using DevOps toolchains in AWS (native or third-party)
  • Experience migrating legacy systems to AWS solutions
  • A strong understanding and experience with AWS IAM including Roles and Policies
  • A strong understanding and experience with AWS ACL, Security Groups, VPCs,
  • Experience with three or more of the following AWS services: GuardDuty, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Macie, Inspector, SecurityHub, TrustedAdvisor, Config, ControlTower / GuardRails
  • At least one relevant AWS certification
  • Experience in at least one scripting environment applicable to the AWS CLI
  • Knowledge of one or more Infrastructure as Code toolsets
  • Disciplined self-starter who can successfully bring projects and tasks to closure with a minimum of direction, guidance, and oversight
  • Team player with the ability to interact and communicate with clients and peers in a positive, collaborative, and constructive manner
  • Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to acquire a US Government security clearance and work with export-controlled CUI

  • Experience with Azure or AzureGov
  • Experience supporting multi-cloud, multi-tenant environments
  • Experience with Microsoft 365
  • Experience with
  • Experience with Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and other development environments
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience building dashboards (e.g., PowerBI or known BI tools)
  • Experience working as or closely with an information security officer
  • Experience developing and monitoring IT policies & procedures
  • PMP Certification
  • An active USG security clearance
