SUMMARY

Serve as Legal Technician with responsibility for record keeping, extracting statistical data, inputting information into a database, receiving and distributing incoming case files and mail. Provide reception coverage by managing access and control, answering and transferring telephone calls, and processing visitors into the office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following:

  • Track cases using a record-keeping system;
  • Extract statistical data on a regularly scheduled or ad hoc basis utilizing automation, statistical, and reports.
  • Input information into a database and maintain automated records for the criminal or civil case workload;
  • Receive and distribute incoming case files and mail;
  • Review content to determine the nature of the Government's interest and cause of action;
  • Select the appropriate computer codes and update the database to record status changes in all items docketed;
  • Assist senior technicians and other employees in obtaining information from the database and interpreting output;
  • Provide reception coverage for the U.S. Attorney's Office;
  • Manage access and control, answer and transfer telephone calls, process visitors into the office;
  • Assist in enforcing security policies pertaining to visitors and guests;
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY

No supervisory or management authority.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products;
  • Basic written, communication, and computer skills;
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, confidence and integrity while directly dealing with internal and external customers;
  • Ability to prioritize work and successfully meet deadlines in a fast-paced environments;
  • Successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen
  • Pursuant to U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, Cherokee Federal is now requiring that all employees be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by December 8th. An individual is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after the second dose of a two-dose vaccine (i.e., Moderna or Pfizer) or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine (i.e., Johnson & Johnson). As a prospective employee, you will fall under this requirement and proof of vaccination will be needed for on-boarding, should you be selected. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office setting. Work may require lifting objects up to 50lbs.
