Sr. Software Engineer (DevOps)

Genfare is seeking a DevOps (Sr. Software) Engineer to join an innovative and dynamic team that develops and tests industry-leading fare collection products and services. As the DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for Genfare's connected offering's hosted products. We are looking for an automation champion who strives to automate any task that needs to be performed repeatedly. You should believe in clear documentation and influencing colleagues to support their goals.

Responsibilities:

  • This is a hands-on position, which will require adhering to strict process where a process currently exists, developing new processes where one does not exist and continuously improving all existing processes regarding:
    • Manage access identities and roles
    • IT security
    • Backup and disaster recovery planning
    • Environment monitoring
    • Environment patching
    • Respond to outages
    • L2 application support
    • Change management
    • Source Code management
    • Release Management
    • Build Management
    • Asset Management and tracking
    • AWS and Atlassian account management
  • Lead and contribute in the DevOps team to maintain and build out our infrastructure and servers currently operating on AWS.
  • Continuously improve our infrastructure to be easy to deploy, scalable, secure and fault-tolerant
  • Work with geographically disperse DevOps team in NA and India.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5-7 years experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or applicable field
  • 3-5 year's experience with a Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or applicable field
  • 3 years minimum of experience with build management, continuous integration, log collection and analysis, builds and performance monitoring/tuning of your infrastructure
  • Experience supporting Windows, Linux/Unix Enterprise deployments for a hosted high traffic site
  • Experience designing, monitoring and managing scalable and fault-tolerant deployments and supported them in real-world scenarios.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Intellectual curiosity that motivates you to keep on top of technical trends - but you also have deep knowledge in the tools of choice.
  • Service-oriented, and enjoy working with engineers to make the software development process streamlined
  • Experience writing Terraform and Cloud Formation scripts.
  • Demonstrable experience with the AWS stack.
  • Experience with network and server security.
