As our Research Scientist, Acoustics you will be responsible for the acoustical performance aspects of various types of projects. You will support efforts within our Research & Development, New Product Development, Operations, and Commercialization teams.

What you'll be doing:

• Executing, overseeing, and interpreting material performance testing
• Performing acoustical modeling and performance prediction for new products and new applications
• Overseeing acoustical performance claims in external publications
• Collaborating with project teams during planning and implementation
• Analyzing market and technical trends in architecture, design, engineering, construction, and related areas and develop new concepts and ideas
• Supporting AWI TechLine with acoustical issues
• Participating in pertinent technical conferences (ASA, ASTM, etc.)
• Participating in field acoustical case studies
• Assessing competitive products and solutions
• Participating in improvement teams and safety committees to elevate AWI processes and procedures

What will make you successful:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Architecture, Acoustics, or related technical field
• 2+ years of relivant experience to include familiarity with acousitical measurements and calculations as well as predictive analysis and modeling
• Written and verbal communication skills from the test lab to senior management

Preferred qualifications:

• Advanced Degree in acoustics-related field
• Regular participation and experience in industry organizations such as ASA, ASTM, ASHRAE, etc.
