Job Description
Reporting directly to the Director of Student Rights and Responsibilities, the Assistant Director of Student Success is responsible for administering and supporting two large scale services within Student Life, First Generation Support Services and Restorative Justice Practices programs. The work of the Assistant Director is grounded in diversity, equity and inclusion practices in order to best engage and holistically support students at UCSF.

First Generation Support Services
The Assistant Director is responsible for leading and executing campus-wide programs that build community, improve the quality of first-generation student life, and promote student inter-professional engagement. In this role, the Assistant Director provides advising and development to student leaders, connects students to resources that address their needs, as well as guide them in their community outreach efforts. The Assistant Director oversees and assists with the First Generation to College Mentorship Program and the Peer Mentorship Program, as well as authors monthly First Generation Newsletter. The Assistant Director maintains strong networks of professional service providers in order to make referrals as appropriate, and consults with faculty and staff regarding academic, personal, and programmatic concerns of first-generation UCSF students. Additionally, the Assistant Director identifies and builds relationships with campus-wide key stakeholders such as first-generation college faculty, postdocs, residents, fellows and alumni to support programming and mentorship opportunities. In this capacity, the Assistant Director contributes to campus-wide diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives pertaining to first-generation college students at UCSF.

Restorative Justice Practices Program
The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the programmatic services for the Restorative Justice Practices program. In this role, the Assistant Director facilitates trainings, workshops, and outreach services on restorative justice practices to the UCSF community, as well as facilitates trainings for campus facilitators. The Assistant Director develops and maintains relationships with internal and external organization stakeholders critical to program success. The Assistant Director supports the work of the Director by identifying and building relationships with campus-wide key stakeholders to expand the use of restorative justice practices at UCSF. The Assistant Director organizes requests for Restorative Justice Practices trainings, workshops, outreach services, and programmatic offerings. Additionally, the Assistant Director maintains and updates content for the Restorative Justice Practices website.
