Responsible for the daily job tasks associated with pouring, the cupola, the charge system, scrap yard, crane operation, transport of materials, and the maintenance and restoration of equipment.
Department Specific Essential Functions -
Pouring liquid metals into molds.
Prepare metals for pouring.
Participate in bottom drop and refractory tasks.
Perform start-up and shut-down operations; for example, add required materials, repair, and reline ladles and troughs.
Authorized and trained to handle hazardous waste. Assist with the waste stream management of the cupola bag house dust, slag and quench tank discharge, including but not limited to sampling, container inspections, and performance of Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan.
Be familiar with different types and techniques of refractory installations.
Help control raw material inventory effectively.
Perform melt department preventive maintenance tasks as required.
Step-in to fill voids or assist Melt employees in carrying out their tasks.
Other activities as may be assigned in order to maintain production requirements of the department or plant. Work assignments will be made at the discretion of management.

Education/Experience –
No previous experience required, we will train you!
No educational requirements
Must be able to read, communicate and understand instructions in the English language
Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time
Must actively engage in safe working practices
Must be able to tolerate hot working conditions and a loud environment
Must be comfortable working in small spaces
Previous experience utilizing basic hand tools, hoists, and tape measure preferred
