Job Description

Position Title:  Dishwasher

Job: Part Time, Hourly, $13.50 per hour

Supervisor: Executive Chef, Sous Chef

Date: 06/2021

General Purpose:  The dishwasher for Milwaukee Art Museum is responsible for assisting with the overall success of the Food Program. This means adhering to the Museum’s culture, guidelines and the Health Department’s regulations. This position is responsible for properly washing and storing proper placement of all china, flatware, small wares and kitchen equipment. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
Education/Experience Requirements:  High School Diploma. Person must possess strong work ethic and be an organized food professional. Kitchen background and knowledge of sanitation preferred. 
License or Certification Requirements: None

Duties & Responsibilities:
In the performance of their respective tasks and duties, all employees are expected to conform to the following:
Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Wash and store in zoned areas the following:
pots and pans, china, flatware, glassware, kitchen utensils and equipment, platters, cutting boards, etc. Handle all dishes, utensils and equipment with care. Removes trash and replaces bags. Organizes shelving daily. Sweep and mop kitchen at the end of each shift. Completes daily, monthly, and quarterly cleaning tasks. May assist with other duties as assigned by supervisor. Remove daily linen bags and replace with new linen bags. Assists in the production of MAM events. Represents the company in a professional, courteous, efficient, and friendly manner in all customer, client and employee interactions. Adheres to all Health Department, OSHA and ADA regulations. Participates in safety and sanitation inspections

Physical Requirements:
Walks or stands during entire shift. Use hands or fingers, handle, or feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; reach with hands and arms. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Push and Pull carts weighing up to 100 pounds. Able to work with potentially dangerous equipment which may chop, slice mix, etc. Interacts verbally and professionally with service and kitchen staff. Possess a professional and positive attitude. Must be able to read and speak English. Use of alcohol or drugs before or during one’s shift is grounds for dismissal.

Temperament:
Excellent interpersonal skills, systematic, meticulous, patient, self-starter and works well under pressure. Manages time efficiently, analyze and solve problems independently and if necessary, collaboratively. Ability to be flexible and embrace changes within this position due to departmental priorities. Ability to work with a wide variety of people to achieve the goals of the Museum.
