Job Description

Job Summary


Looking for a self-motivated candidate who enjoys working in a fast paced environment, is not afraid of change, and is tenacious enough to take challenges to successful conclusion. The ideal candidate will work with the business to help define their needs, analyze possible solutions, define a project plan, and execute to completion.

Essential Functions
 
  • Point person for all EDI projects and functions
  • Create & modify EDI maps, user files, tables, etc.
  • Work on day to day RPGLE programming project assignments
  • Resolve applicable Service Desk tickets as assigned
  • Able to help employees with a variety of technical issues as they arise.

Expected Areas of Competence (KSAs)
 
  • Well-rounded experience with Extol/Cleo EDI software preferred.
  • SQL experience required.
  • Strong technical skills and business acumen required.
  • Honesty and integrity a must.
  • Strong communicator to all levels from shop floor to executive leadership team.
  • Ability to problem solve within ambiguous, flexing, requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements
 
    • 4 Year Degree in Information Sciences or related curriculum and 1 year of IT experience or 2 Year Degree in Information Technology and 3 years IT experience
    • Background in logistics applications and processes preferred.
    • Has completed EDI partner and transaction implementations from beginning to end.
    • Experience troubleshooting and resolving daily EDI issues.
    • Knowledge of IBM iSeries (Power Systems, AS/400).
    • Proficient in programming languages RPGLE, CLLE, SQL, DDS etc.
    • Proficient with understanding and using IBM I commands.
    • IBM I ACS (Access Client Solutions).
    • Familiar with all EDI transactions of a typical distribution business; 830,862,810, 856,850,855,860 etc.


Physical Requirements

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Use of a keyboard and mouse at least 80% of the day is necessary.

The worker must be able to access, analyze and otherwise work with, enter information stored in or obtained through the company's computer system, and to communicate effectively with co-workers and third parties who have business dealings with the company's operations.  


Travel Requirements

Occasional travel may be required to other NEI sites.
