Public Relations Intern - Home-Based

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Public Relations intern will work primarily with member engagement and enrollment marketing team focused on raising awareness of the Be The Match brand and key organization focus areas through message development, content strategy, thought leadership, influencer relations and media relations. The person in this role will be assigned projects and mentors to help him or her gain a better understanding of communications best practices, standards of performance and office culture. This hands-on internship will provide the opportunity to make valuable contributions to our life-saving work. This position can be located anywhere in the U.S. It's scheduled to work 40 hours/week over the summer months with the possibility to continue as a part-time internship once classes resume in the fall.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Works collaboratively with PR & Social team members to understand business objectives and implement multi-channel communication tactics to meet objectives.
Measures and reports on earned media metrics and impact on KPIs established by team members.
Assists in building media lists, identifying new media outlets specifically targeting Generation Z, and suggesting story angles for media placements.
Writes engaging content for PR efforts (media pitches, blog posts, etc.) that drives action, meets defined project objectives and key messages and adheres to brand standards.
Maintains and updates Influencer relationship management workflow researching and identifying potential influencers, tracking engagement, updating Salesforce contact management, and assisting in relationship building.
Responsible for updating fact sheets, templates, toolkits and maintaining BeTheMatch.org newsroom materials.
Other duties as assigned.
