Job Description
**WLUK** is looking for a take-charge **Sports Reporter** to help us continue our leading coverage of the Pro's, the Preps, College and Outdoor Sports. The ideal candidate should be able to develop story ideas and gather information for newscasts, have sound writing skills, a great work ethic, and a can-do attitude. The best person for this job will have excellent live shot skills and thrives on breaking stories. Our Sports Journalists dig deeper than the basic sound bite to find context and impact for their stories. The position also includes some anchoring for daily newscasts and longer form sports specials. **No day will look the same as a Reporter, however, the main responsibilities of the role will include:** + Writing content for broadcasts and digital platforms + Edit video using AVID systems + Shoot and operate video camera equipment in the field + Deliver live and breaking sports content in a clean and confident manner + Opportunities to produce and anchor long and short form sports broadcast content + Work closely with all members of the news team, which would include Producers, Editors, Anchors, News Directors etc. **Additionally, this person should have a...** + 2 years of experience as a Sports Broadcast Reporter is preferred + Previous experience covering Proforessional Sports Teams is preferred + The ability to operate camera equipment in the field + College Degree + Must be flexible and able to work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free Workplace!
