We are seeking a consultative HR professional who is passionate about solving customer problems and providing options for multiple options as a trusted advisor. Leverage your tactical and strategic human resources expertise by assisting other professionals in solving a broad variety of challenges

Position: HR Advisor

Apply your extensive human resource experience and executive-level communication skills to support a variety of company types, industries, and sizes. This is a position with high visibility and responsibility where your keen problem-solving skills, effective communication, and flexibility will be greatly valued!

Our department of HR professionals works as a team and has a strong sense of camaraderie! Our HR Business Advisors enjoy using their professional skills and experience to serve members yet appreciate having a work-life balance in this part-time role working 24-28 hours per week.

MRA's HR Hotline Advisors give advice and recommendations via phone and email on HR-related issues and topics. We serve executive leaders, other HR professionals, and front-line supervisors and become an extension of their team. You will assist with compliance questions, compensation plans, benefits, recruitment and retention, performance management, policy development, employee relations, and many other HR topics. You will be seen by our members as the authority in the human resources area. Your strong self-motivation, exceptional communication skills, research skills, and desire for variety make this a great role for you! We work hard, but we have fun in the process!

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide timely, professional, and accurate information and advice to member companies in all aspects of HR, via MRA's HR Hotline
  • Research new or unfamiliar legislation, HR trends, and technologies
  • Complete special projects as assigned

What we look for in a great candidate:

  • Must possess a related college degree
  • HR Certification preferred (candidate without certification must be willing to obtain certification within the first year of employment).
  • Preferred 15 years of progressive, broad HR generalist experience in multiple industries
  • Ability to work independently
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Proficient in MS Office software
