Job Description
Insinkerator, the world's largest manufacturer of disposers and hot water dispensers, is currently seeking a Spin Rivet Operator to work in its Racine, WI manufacturing plant. The spin rivet machines are turntables run in a semi-automatic mode. The turntable indexes every cycle. During the halt between cycles, the operator standing in front of the machine assembles parts to fixtures and may remove completed assemblies if they are not automatically moved. Simultaneously, a power head located at the rear of the machine seats the already assembled parts together. Operator must perform quality checks and area housekeeping. Hearing protection is mandatory. Operator is required to wear gloves. As a Spin Rivet Operator, you will: * Lift container of parts from line to machine table. Assemble parts to fixture on turntable. * Cycle machine so table indexes. Remove completed part from fixture if necessary. * Place completed part in basket for next operation. Repeat process. * Place baskets of completed parts for movement to next operation. * Complete all required paperwork, quality records, documents, etc. * Comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, and clean/restock area at end of shift. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: * H.S. diploma or equivalent * Must be available to work any shift in the event of a shift change * 1 year continuous work history with a single employer Training time for this position is 1 - 2 weeks. OTHER SKILLS & ABILTIES: * Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations with whole numbers and decimals. * Ability to read and understand work instructions, Operator Inspection Cycles, and other job related material. * Ability to understand and follow oral instructions with minimal supervision.
