Spectrum Brands utilizes a Shared Services model that enables resources to be leveraged across the organization. The Shared Services team is made up of information technology, human resources, indirect sourcing, finance & accounting professionals that support all business units. Shared services teams are headquartered in Middleton, Wisconsin but have members across the country. Job Summary The IT Business Partner team will provide the primary point of contact to drive the technology needs that are critical to managing the business. This team will also be responsible for project initiation, high level requirements, managing project portfolios and providing leadership and direction in both strategy and the day-to-day execution of IT products/services.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities Leadership
- Leads a small team of IT Business Consultants responsible for a portfolio of client relationships, related projects and overall technology point of contact for the senior business leaders
- Execute and manage activities and initiatives aligned with our roadmap and overall business objectives. Accountable for managing any delivery related escalations.
- Required to have a broad-based view of IT activities and how they can help achieve the business goals
- Develop roadmaps (with the business leaders and our Enterprise Architects) that integrate business and IT capabilities together in a way that aids stakeholders in visualizing future business outcomes and making better-informed investment decisions
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with leadershipin alignment between IT and the business while also making it easy to do business with IT
- Proactively develop and implement ideas to improve outcomes through the use of technology
- Ensure employee engagement is maintained at high levels
- Application Owner for a portion of the applications portfolio
Delivery
- Present ideas, solicits input, evaluates risk, and garner support of senior level executives and/or initiative stakeholders
- Initiate projects, support business case development and develop roadmaps
- Delivers projects, solutions and IT services in support of approved business and technology driven portfolios of work
- Delivers solutions that meet functional requirements, meet delivery schedules, within cost projections, are of high quality and enable business outcomes
- Establish, participate in and help govern Project Steering Committees
- Prepare and present technical solution recommendations, status updates, and business value propositions to the highest levels of business and leadership
- Identifies deviations from expected results and other disruptions and promptly leads team to issue resolution
- Conduct and / or oversee project post completion audits (including lessons learned)
Forecasting and Management of Staff
- Develops a staffing plan that meets both customer expectations and financial constraints
- Leverages vendor relationships to scale capabilities and capacity to meet business needs
- Directs and builds a high performing team
- Leads employees through effective hiring, orientating, training, mentoring and coaching
- Provides ongoing recognition, feedback and development, holding employees accountable for success. Identify and mentor future organizational leaders
- Foresees future business implications based on quantitative and qualitative information
Business of IT
- Understand and support the Company's strategy, goals, and priorities
- Collaborate and actively support other IT functions to ensure overall IT success
- Understand IT industry best practices, standards, and resources (Gartner, vendors, etc.) to ensure continuous optimization of IT delivery effectiveness
- Ensure overall success of IT delivery and meet customer expectations
- Comply with process and control requirements
- Work with IT and business leadership to contribute to the IT strategic plan, project portfolio plans, business unit, department, and individual goals that contribute to the success of the Company and the IT organization
- Monitor and adjust goals and plan with business and IT leadership expectations
- Plan for application retirement as part of the application life cycle management, and internal SLA's.
Education and Experience Profile A minimum of 15 years of total work experience including some of the following: IT solution delivery, IT Business Partnership, Application Development or Architecture that includes direct interaction with business leadership
Knowledge of the supported domains (Manufacturing, R&D, Product Development, Product Management or Direct Procurement)
Experience in a manufacturing organization
B.S. degree in an IT related field or supported functions or substantial industry experience
Prior experience leading and directing teams
Major ERP experience required; SAP experience highly desired especially on S/4 HANA
Experience interacting with senior leadership
Product Life Cycle Management systems and / or processes is helpful
Required Skills Strong collaboration, teamwork and relationship building skills across multiple levels and functions
Able to direct and build high performing teams
Understanding of End-User perspective and how the system tool supports their processes
Ability to distinguish between technical and process problems and/or solutions
Understanding of integration points with various system tools
Able to produce solutions and validate ROI on proposed solutions by team members
Experience preparing and delivering presentation materials to business leaders
Experience interfacing with and providing oversight of consulting resources
Effectively work and lead both technical and business people when resolving business issues
Ability to identify how technology can be used to improve business outcomes
Ability to collaborate with employees and leaders to deliver a solution that meets the needs of the business.
Knowledge of CPG industry and business framework is helpful
