The Applications Manager must be a self-motivated person who enjoys working in a fast paced environment, is not afraid of change, and is tenacious enough to take challenges to successful conclusion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintenance and support of software applications used by the shop floor both existing and future. This includes but is not limited to Kronos, ETQ Reliance, VKS, Qlikview, & Upkeep.
Essential Functions
Application configuration
Monitor for system upgrades and make recommendations
Perform testing of service releases/upgrades
Lead a team of testers as needed for patches and upgrades
Answer service desk tickets, brings issues to resolution
Work with vendors for support issues
Establish best practices through the entire technical support process
Configure and test application hardware (clocks, tablets, etc)
Perform change requests
Policy, procedure, and best practice documentation
Development of training materials
Attend training opportunities for applications
Work with all aspects of the IT department to test and deploy applications
Project management
Expected Areas of Competence (KSAs)
Shop floor understanding of how applications are used
Ability to study and learn new software features
Business acumen
Honesty and integrity a must
Effective communicator from shop floor to executive leadership team
Ability to problem solve within ambiguous, flexing, requirements
Education and Experience Requirements
Associate’s Degree preferred
5+ years’ experience in manufacturing setting is preferred
The role is considered the expert in the field and must have intimate knowledge of customer processes and applications
Experience with manufacturing processes
Six Sigma training is preferred
Must be willing to take courses for all supported applications
Physical Requirements
Must be able to access every location in both office and plant spaces. Must be able to shadow shop floor employees job duties to provide application support and training. Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
The worker must be able to access, analyze and otherwise work with, enter information stored in or obtained through the company's computer system, and to communicate effectively with co-workers and third parties who have business dealings with the Company's operations.
Core work hours are 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday – Extra time as required to implement programs, provide emergency support, and perform general system maintenance. Use of a keyboard and mouse at least 80% of the day is necessary.
Travel Requirements
Up to 10% travel may be required to other NEI sites.
