Job Description
This position is responsible to test the manufacturing and installation of electrical equipment, components, or systems for industrial use in a manufacturing setting.

Essential Functions:

  • Design/build, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments/circuits, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems for commercial or industrial purposes.
  • Test faulty equipment and applied knowledge of operations of units and systems.
  • Test activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements.
  • Uses various checking instruments to locate defects.
  • Lay out, assemble and alter power and light systems in the plant.
  • Wire machine tools upon installation.
  • Perform other general maintenance work as assigned.
  • Use riding fork and platform power truck as necessary to perform above duties.
Expected Areas of Competence:
  • Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming is a plus. Basic understanding of functionality.
  • Knowledge of tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic and their applications.
  • Use of forklifts and platform power trucks.
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information for all relevant sources.
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Education and Experience Requirements:  
  • Technical Certification in Electric Technology required.
  • Forklift Certification required.
  • One to two years of experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Shifts:
  • Must be available for overtime as production needs require.
  • 3rd shift: 10:00 pm – 6:00 am
  • This positons trains on 1st shift: 6: 00 am – 2:00 pm
Pay rate:
  • Base pay rate of $18.20/hr., 3rd shift premium: $0.30

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work overtime and weekend shifts.
  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Travel Requirements:
  • No travel anticipated with this position.
