Job Description

Job Summary


The Director of Maintenance, Engineering, and Capital will be responsible for safety, efficiency, and uptime of all equipment, related control systems, and execution of capital projects.  This is a hands-on role with the expectation that you will lead from the floor, and earn the respect of the people you are leading.  The role has multi-site responsibility, and is located in Neenah WI with 70% of the focus being on the Neenah Foundry location in Neenah WI.  There will be 20% travel to other facilities including manufacturing and distribution sites.  The role will develop and execute the maintenance business plan with specific objectives to deliver revenue growth, profitability, and market share.  Capital project execution and support will be critical, along with predictive and preventive maintenance. The role will initiate process improvements, direct and manage all preventive maintenance projects, and work with external contractors to complete major projects on time and budget. This position works with all senior members of operations and company leadership.

    • Serve in the capacity of the Subject Matter Expert for Facilities, Industrial Machinery, Project Engineering, and Maintenance Operations.
    • Use a Root Cause and Corrective Action approach to repairs and improvements.
    • Use a Six-Sigma and quantitative analysis approach to problem solving.
    • Initiate and implement projects to effectively resolve and implement solutions. Ensure timely and within budget completion of the projects in the Engineering, Maintenance, and Capex areas of responsibility. Assures projects are in compliance with State, Federal and local codes that encompass including but not limited to EPA, OSHA, and hazardous waste related issues.
    • Coordinate with all applicable functions and vendors to properly coordinate for the repair and/or routine maintenance of equipment.
    • Analyze production or process problems to prioritize preventative maintenance projects.
    • Review and maintain all check sheets and PMs, ensuring necessary action items are completed in a timely manner.
    • Monitor uptime and efficiencies of all production equipment in the plant, working with other Maintenance and Production Supervisors/Managers to drive for improvement and efficiencies.
    • Initiate and investigate process improvements through technology changes in industry.
    • Utilize technical acumen to develop Preventive Maintenance Plans for industrial machinery, perform Preventive Maintenance Optimization and train onsite technicians on Maintenance Activities as required.
    • Provide Maintenance and capital support to other NEI facilities as needed.
    • Provide guidance for the plants CMMS system.
    • Serve as a leader with Continuous Improvement.

Expected Areas of Competence (KSAs)
 
    • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance required.
    • Knowledge of hydraulics, mechanics, pneumatics and electrical functions required.
    • High level of proficiency in MS Office products required.
    • Ability to monitor and assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action required.
    • Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
    • Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
    • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions.
    • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods required.

Education and Experience Requirements
 
    • BS/MS in Engineering discipline.
    • Minimum 10-years managerial experience.
    • Root Cause Analysis
    • CMMS Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
    • Experience in predictive and preventive maintenance scheduling and execution.
    • Advanced technical knowledge of building systems, industrial machinery and electrical/mechanical theory is essential.
    • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.
    • Experience in the heavy metal manufacturing preferred.
    • Experience in a unionized environment is a plus.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated Problem Solving Skills

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

The worker must be able to access, analyze and otherwise work with, enter information stored in or obtained through the company's computer system, and to communicate effectively with co-workers and third parties who have business dealings with the company's operations.  

Travel Requirements

20% travel is anticipated with this position
