The Reliability Engineer applies engineering skills to primarily focus on the execution of capital projects as well as providing plant maintenance support as needed with an equipment reliability and mechanical integrity mindset. He or she schedules and helps to coordinate innovative, complex projects to meet cost and time objectives, complying with design criteria and standards. Examples include: providing engineering support and MOC's for plant maintenance changes and improvements, overseeing vessel or tank inspections or repairs and initiating or implementing equipment reliability improvement efforts.

What You Will Do:

• Manage assigned vessel and tank inspections and complete to plan.
• Capture and analyze failure data and work with TPM Manager and Maintenance Manager to identify and drive improvements. This can involve developing productivity measures and providing team training and support to ensure that equipment and the facility function as planned to avoid downtime.
• Lead and/or participate in root cause failure investigations.
• Establish and/or validate equipment criticality.
• Establish effective strategies for critical equipment and work with planning to ensure they are captured effectively in site CMMS system. Facilitate reviews of existing preventative & predictive maintenance programs and propose/implement improvements.
• Coordinate with corporate engineering in establishing and installing capital budget programs.
• Participate on the plant environmental/compliance team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
• 5 years' directly related engineering experience
• 1 year experience with TPM
• Chemical plant experience strongly preferred (consideration given for refinery or other industrial plant experience)
• Familiarity with applicable pipe, vessel, tank, and other applicable standards

Preferred Qualifications:

• Mechanical Engineering degree or advanced degree in an engineering discipline.
• Demonstrated knowledge of project management tools and techniques on cross functional teams.
• Current with technology in his/her discipline.
• A strong desire to improve plant and equipment reliability
• Experience with pumps, motors, exchangers, and chemical packaging equipment
• Experience with CMMS systems, preferably eMaint
