The Safety Internship will begin in May 2021 and end in August 2021. This internship is designed for a student studying for a career as a Safety Professional. The Safety Intern will assist the Safety Department with a variety of projects including:
Expected Areas of Competence (KSAs)
Developing knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety concepts including

- Corrective Actions driven by our independent safety audit
- Training associates on a variety of powered industrial vehicles
- Auditing Safety Data Sheets
- Assisting with New Associate Orientation, Supervisor Safety Meetings, and other training and auditing activities
Expected Areas of Competence (KSAs)
Developing knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety concepts including
- Established safety principles.
- Appropriate laws and regulations.
- Effective engineering control techniques.
- OSHA guidelines.
- Compliance inspections.
- Applicable ISO standards.
- Occupational report preparation
- Lean/Six Sigma practices related to environmental health and safety in industrial manufacturing
- Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Safety Engineering Technology, Environmental Health & Safety or related field
- Experience in Safety and/or training in an industrial setting is a plus
