Job Description
Summary
Under the direction of the Manufacturing Manager, the Shift Supervisor ensures the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards and customer specifications and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise staff and processes to ensure the production of company products at the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, meeting company performance standards, and customer specification and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Review production schedules, review component parts, and sub-assembly availability against build schedule.
- Ensure the training of new and present employees in the processes and methods required to achieve the company’s standards for quality, quantity, safety, and ISO9001.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 procedures and requirements, participate in ISO planning sessions.
- Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems; analyze and resolve work problems, and assist workers in solving work problems.
- Maintain departmental supplies, tools, equipment, and order as necessary.
- Ensure the completion of all required production paperwork, records, documentation, such as time cards, quality records, etc.
- Approve vacation schedules
- Ensure compliance with departmental housekeeping standards and all safety and work rules and regulations.

- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Basic computer and data entry skills
- Basic blue print reading skills

- Proficient at using various measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, height gauges, and scales
- Ability to bend, reach, push, and pull frequently
- Ability to walk/stand for 8 hours
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Possess good team building skills
- Ability to observe all safety regulations including the wearing of eye and hearing protection, ladder safety, fall protection, powered industrial truck procedures, and all other safety regulations
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Education and/or Experience

- Bachelor’s degree and three to five years related experience preferred;
- High School diploma or equivalent plus 3 years of technical plastics experience and 3 years of supervisory experience required.
