Job Description

Currently looking for an E-Commerce Specialist to join our E-Commerce Shiner Goodwill family. Main responsibilities include handling customer pickups, picking the orders for customer pickups, and supplementing our inventory control team members as able.


Position: E-Commerce Specialist

Job Location: Appleton, WI

Start Date: Based on accepted offer

Employment Term: Regular

Employment Type: Full-time and Temporary positions available

Work Hours (i.e. shift): 7am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday w/ occasional overtime on Saturdays based on the needs of the business.

Starting Salary: $12.00/hour

Our organization is really busy, we're changing lives every day, and we need organized and energetic full-time E-Commerce Specialist for our E-Commerce team at our Fox Cities production, distribution and training facility.


Our E-commerce Team, which is based at the Goodwill Shiner Center in Appleton, works with our retail stores and training centers with their high-end or unique donated items that we list online to be seen and shopped by a global customer base.


Our E-Commerce Specialist sorts, cleans, researches, photographs, writes descriptions for, and lists items for sale on E-Commerce sales venues to maximize revenue from donated goods and create more "profit" to fund programs and services.


Qualified applicants should enjoy a fast-paced environment while working with a high degree of attention to process and detail and will have basic to intermediate computer and photography skills to be successful. Previous experience writing online auctions or simply loving to shop for or collect antiques, electronics, jewelry, brand name apparel, musical instruments, toys, or other collectibles is preferred.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Accurately picks and appropriately packs items as needed in a manner which minimizes returns and damage.
  • Lists and photographs items accurately and concisely to minimize the need for customer inquiries.
  • Appropriately researches items to support accurate and complete descriptions of items.
  • Observes, thoroughly discloses and photographs any quality or damage with items.
  • Consistently responds to customer inquiries in a timely, diplomatic and professional manner.
  • Ensures own online buying and selling does not create a conflict of interest for the organization.
  • A variety of work in other areas of the department may be assigned as necessary to support the business needs.

What I must bring:

  • Education generally equivalent to a high school diploma is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while working with a high degree of attention to process and detail.
  • Intermediate to high level of competency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail.
  • Ability to work independently but also in a team environment.
  • Must remain productive without direct leadership.

The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds and more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
