You will join our Environmental Health & Safety department

As our new Senior Environmental Design Engineer you will be part of the team that utilizes critical thinking abilities for analysis and group participation for development of reports based on evaluation of environmental data and application of regulatory criteria.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Apply engineering and scientific principles and concepts to area(s) of specialization; able to draw solutions from education, formal training, and experience
  • Critical thinking abilities for analysis and group participation for development of reports based on evaluation of environmental data and application of regulatory criteria
  • Lead, collaborate with, and support interdisciplinary engineering design teams to develop and implement multi-discipline solutions for soil, groundwater, sediment, and vapor remediation projects, using in-situ and ex-situ technologies, including:
  • Participates in project scoping, costing, proposal preparation, and client presentations
  • Establishes work procedures/sequences and develops schedules, budgets, staffing requirements, and vendor/subcontractor lists
  • Maintains a continuing business relationship with major Clients as part of ongoing business development efforts and routinely meets with Client management to resolve issues
  • Effective oral presentations and technical writing; work plans and reports; data compilation and analysis
  • Preparation of contract/design drawings, specifications, and bid documents for environmental remediation projects
  • Tracking of milestones, deliverables, and compliance with established budgets, plans, specifications, Company standards of workmanship, quality and performance, and with the terms and conditions of the contract
  • Plan, design, and manage/execute field work for environmental projects (e.g., sampling of soil, sediment, and groundwater, quality assurance and perimeter air monitoring for remedial construction)
  • Reviews and analyzes the cost and cost control progress, financial and other site-generated data to evaluate job status and compliance
  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractor work activities

  • BS or MS in Environmental, Geological, Geotechnical or related Engineering degree
  • 10 - 15 years environmental consulting experience, ranging from site characterization through remedial implementation and site closure
  • Registered professional engineer in one or more states
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations and programs
  • Strong team player that can manage and contribute to several projects simultaneously
  • This position encompasses both office work (technical design, project/task management, data analysis, and report preparation) as well as field work
  • OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification preferred
  • AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience a plus
  • Experience training and/or mentoring junior-level technical staff a plus
  • Active participation in professional associations and other organizations a plus
