DISA Operator
Job Description: The DISA Operator role is responsible for operating the Disamatic molding machine on the production floor. This role is an entry-level opportunity and does not require previous experience. The position does offer the opportunity for cross training and experience in a variety of tasks related to production.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate Disamatic molding machine
Haul Iron
Work with molten iron
Operate 10 ton monorail hoist to transport molten iron
Operate 50 ton holding furnace
Maintain furnaces and ladles
Pour molten iron
Basic computer use
Lift cores up to 50 lbs every 20 seconds
Responsible for machine lock out/tag out
Operate fork lift as needed
Rotate in and out of (6) different positions in the department
Unload racks of cores
Inspect cores and molds
Monitor patterns for stickers
Operate balancer for cores over 50 lbs
Sweep and shovel sand
Operate large air hammer
Use air tools, grinders, and basic hand tools
Read and interpret process sheets
Education/Experience Requirements:
No previous experience required, we will train you!
No educational requirements
Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time
Must actively engage in safe working practices
Must be able to tolerate warm working conditions and a loud environment
Must be comfortable working in small spaces
Must be comfortable working directly with molten iron
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Must be at least 18 years old to apply
Shifts:
Must be available to work 8-10 hour shifts
Opportunity for over time / voluntary 12 hour shifts
Monday – Saturday
Typical shift hours:
2nd shift: 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm, 2:30 pm – 1:00 am
Pay rate:
Base pay rate of $15.94, 2nd shift premium: $0.70
2nd shift pay rate: $16.64
Base rates increase $0.50/hour upon successful completion of probation (60 working days)
