Job Description
SUMMARY:   Maintenance Technician will be responsible for repairs, troubleshooting and expertise in functionality of all machinery, high speed robotics and automation and plant support equipment. This includes troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic circuits with the aid of schematics and repairing electric circuits with complete understanding of electrical schematic diagrams.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but are not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned.
 
·        Maintain, troubleshoot and repair high speed robotics and automation equipment.
·        Maintain, troubleshoot and repair injection molding machines and a variety of, auxiliary equipment.
·        Service lifts, hoists, power and miscellaneous material handling equipment.
·        Maintain and repair plant systems to include plumbing, heating and air conditioning, ventilating and exhaust equipment, compressors, etc.
·        Perform electrical repairs to machines and equipment. Diagnose electrical / electronic malfunctions, troubleshoot microprocessors.
·        Work from prints, plans, sketches and layouts.
·        Perform preventive maintenance activities on all production equipment in a timely manner. Use precision measuring instruments such as scale, calipers, dividers, level, micrometers, etc.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required with additional related education / training a plus.  Minimum 4 years maintenance experience required.  Maintenance experience in repairing plastic injection molding machines (Husky, Van Dorn) and related equipment is desired.  Working knowledge of robotics and automation required. Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electricity Industrial level electrical/PLC skills a plus.
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals and technical procedures.. Ability to effectively communicate with all level of employees within the organization as well as contractors. 

MATHMATICAL SKILLS
Ability add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to apply common sense, understand and carry out instructions given in written, verbal or diagram form. The ability to effectively prioritize activities and conduct duties with minimal supervision is important.  The ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions where limited information exists.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to instruct other individuals in safe operation of equipment. Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications.
Strong mechanical, hydraulics and pneumatic maintenance skills, ability to troubleshoot and repair all production facility equipment.
Proficient in the following trades: Welding, electronics, air compressor, machine shop, hydraulics, electrical maintenance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires regular standing, walking, manipulating hands, wrist and fingers to grasp tools and parts as well as reaching with hands and arms.
Required to carry up to 50lbs up to 10 feet. Occasionally lift 75lbs (various pieces of equipment) from floor to waist level.
Required to initiate push/pulling forces of up to 40lbs and sustained forces of up to 20lbs for a distance of up to 100 feet.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, a Maintenance Technician works near moving mechanical parts. They are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is loud, hearing protection is required on the manufacturing floor.
