As a member of the compliance team, this position is responsible for compliance performance and ensuring compliance with relevant federal and state regulations and laws.  Included in this responsibility is specifically ensuring compliance in the areas of identifying, measuring, mitigating, monitoring and controlling compliance and fraud risk.  

-Maintain a strong technical understanding of applicable banking laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance as they apply to banking products, services and processes.

-Manage the regulatory change process by maintaining timelines needed for newly promulgated or amended laws and regulations and work closely with business unit partners to ensure thorough implementation. Includes researching and analyzing impact of deposit and loan regulatory amendments and changes as it relates to company processes and procedures.

-Act as a compliance resource to answer questions, provide training, make recommendations and collaborate with management. Serve on and act as a contributing member of committees as required.  Make recommendations to improve efficiencies yet ensure risks are mitigated.

-Serve as subject matter expert and provide support to lines of business on compliance-related issues such as large bank Community Reinvestment Act (“CRA”) and Safe Act knowledge. Act as back-up to CRA Officer. 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • A minimum of three years of bank operations experience, with an emphasis on compliance and bank regulatory experience
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations
  • Knowledge and understand of the operating and regulatory environment for community banks
  • Strong technology aptitude and ability to pick up on new technologies quickly
