The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Multiple Site Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator. The Multiple Site SOC Operator is responsible for providing primary and secondary security service support by following pre-defined actions to handle both normal course of business activities and critical events, including escalation to key parties within the operations center and other support groups within the company. The Multiple Site SOC Operator uses a variety of tools that can range from enterprise access control and alarm monitoring systems to various business intelligence sources, open source media, internet, and in-house tools to respond and alert personnel regarding any adverse conditions that may affect the client, its employees, facilities, and/or properties.

The Multiple Site SOC Operator will work at various assignments and may be called upon to work irregular shifts at times with little to no advance notice and performing other duties as specified in post orders

* $1,000 sign-on bonus for applicants with a current WI state security license, payable as follows: $250 payments after 90, 180, 270, and 360 days of continuous employment. $100 bonus is payable after 90 days of continuous employment. Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Continuously monitor and triage security alerts
  • Monitor health of security sensors and endpoints
  • Collects data and context necessary to initiate pre-defined response
  • Answer phones and operate IP based telephone system
  • Watch for irregular or unusual security conditions that may be cause for security concerns or safety hazards affecting client facilities, employees, and travelers
  • Operate radio, telephone equipment, multi-channel communication systems, and/or console monitors
  • Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
  • Maintain written logs as required by SOC post orders
  • Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Assess and evaluate situations efficiently
  • Assist in roles or projects as specified and assigned by appropriate client management
  • Follow procedures established for the site, by the company, and/or through training or certifications
  • Comply with and facilitate the conduct of the daily routine in the SOC
  • Monitor incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, hazardous materials, inclement weather, workplace violence, and other security related incidents or conditions
  • Call logging/data operations support - routing of calls or information to the appropriate units for handling
  • Receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls from employees, outside vendors, law enforcement, and the security field force via telephone, automated alarm monitoring and radio systems
  • Process and evaluate information received from all available sources, and respond with the appropriate communication and dispatch procedures

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass any State-required training or other qualifications for employment
  • Must possess a valid driver's license

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess one or more of the following:
  • Associate's degree or higher
  • Service in the active military, military reserves or National Guard
  • Service in auxiliary police or police cadets
  • Minimum of one year verifiable and successful security experience

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be able to work under stressful conditions
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules, including some nights and weekends
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Office, minimal to no exposure to extreme temperatures

Major activity: Working on PC and using telephone/radio while sitting

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Standing, walking, and sitting. Minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
