DescriptionFor over 80 years, J.W. Speaker has been in the Milwaukee Area specializing in the custom design and manufacture of vehicle lighting for Original Equipment Manufacturers. We manufacture HID (High Intensity Discharge), LED (Light Emitting Diodes) and Halogen lighting technologies.
We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This is a wonderful opportunity for any individual with prior maintenance experience that would like to grow with us.
Primary Responsibilities:
- High level of troubleshooting and problem solving with mechanical systems such as injection mold machines, conveyors, pick and place and automated systems
- Perform routine planned (PM) preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and finds solutions for improvements to equipment to keep them running at or above required efficiency levels
- Expert with test equipment such as vibration meters, laser alignment systems, etc
- High level of troubleshooting and problem solving of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Display a general knowledge of injection molding process
- Maintain accurate work logs of repairs using CMMS work order system and equipment modifications including preventative maintenance and emergency repairs to ensure information is available to appropriately manage workloads
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in an industrial maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment and/or state indentured industrial mechanic Journeyman plus 3 years of experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Technical Training
- Maintenance technician or journeyman certification
- Apprenticeship participation or post high school education in maintenance is preferred
- A strong understanding/continuing education in lean manufacturing, problem solving and process improvement
- Ability to lift up to 34 LBS unassisted
- Ability to stand up to 9 hours
- Ability to work overtime during the week
- Ability to work overtime on weekends unless exempt for Religious purposes
- High School Diploma or GED required
