Job Description

We are pursuing a self-motivated supervisor of our Metrology department. This associate will supervise a team of Layout and Calibration Technicians on daily assignments. The Metrology supervisor will manage the layout schedule, gage calibration database, associate training and equipment readiness to ensure repeatable and reliable information to the Manufacturing Facility.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

  • Supervise daily operations and scheduling of metrology lab and lab personnel
  • Supervise calibration technicians and manage gage calibration system
  • Manage capacity of capital equipment to support the manufacturing operation
  • Manage maintenance of existing equipment
  • Maintain a log clearly identifying workload and schedule of department activities
  • Identify and implement advances in lab measurement equipment and methods
  • Leads group to resolve technical issues
  • Develops resource plans
  • Budgets for lab expenses, annual maintenance and overtime costs
  • Acts as a GD&T subject matter expert for training and GD&T uncertainty
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Ensures proper documentation and related standards and procedures are met
  • Fills in to perform capability analysis when required

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Directly supervise 5-12 people.  Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    Minimum Two years of experience supervising 5+ associates; proficient knowledge of GD&T standards; Operational knowledge of CMM, Optical Comparator and laser scanning equipment. A combination of skills will be acceptable.
