Job Description

Job Summary


Develop and execute sales strategy in the assigned region to achieve required sales goals.  Will act in support of and in consultation with the Regional Sales Director/DSM, Inside Sales, Product Engineering and Pricing to achieve sales goals and customer responsiveness.

  • Develop and implement sales plans and programs to ensure the profitable growth and expansion of NEI Municipal products.
  • Develop a plan of continuing assessment for pricing, distribution, market, customer and competitor information to keep abreast of new opportunities for NEI Municipal.
  • Recommend development of new products/services and plans for increased market penetration based on market research.
  • Obtain market intelligence then analyze and develop recommendations for changes then communicate through proper channels.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the sales territory customer base which includes Municipalities, Contractors, Engineers, Supply Houses, Distributors, OEM and competitors which will be used in sales planning, forecasting and market analysis reports.
  • Provide a weekly call report and discuss current activity in weekly conference calls.
  • Provide assistance to Credit and Collections Manager as necessary to resolve account receivable issues.

  • Demonstrated ability of strong analytical skills and is able to assist in identifying and providing solutions to complex customer issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to create clear action plans.

This position description is intended to cover the most significant, ongoing job functions and competency areas.  Successful performance in the role will require performing satisfactorily other duties as assigned. 

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field required.  Two to Four years of face to face sales to customers experience required.  

Licenses/Certifications – Current state issued driver’s license with clean driving record.

Skill Requirements – Understanding of sales and marketing principles.  A demonstrated record of accomplishment in implementing successful sales programs and new product introductions.  Understanding of NEI Municipal products preferred.  Ability of understanding industry, market and competitive trends in order to identify opportunities. 

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

The worker must be able to access, analyze and otherwise work with, enter information stored in or obtained through the company's computer system, and to communicate effectively with co-workers and third parties who have business dealings with the company's Human Resources operations.  

Travel Requirements

Up to 90%, Overnight travel expected to be between four and eight nights per month.  Weekend trade shows or sales meetings may be required.
