Under the direction of the Camp & Y BASE Director, and in accordance with the Association policies set forth by the YMCA of Greater Waukesha County, the Y BASE Site Supervisor will be responsible for the guidance and direction of the Y BASE Before and After School Engagement Program in one of four Elementary Schools in the following School Districts: Mukwonago, East Troy or Washington/Caldwell.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To assist the Camp & Y BASE Director in the development of the overall Y BASE program.
2. Ensure that care of participants is a key priority through direct supervision site staff.
3. Supervision and training of Site Specific Y BASE Staff.
4. Ensure licensing compliance with Wisconsin DCF 251.
5. Ensure Y BASE site are clean, neat, organized and safe and eliminate or identify any risks that could cause accidents or incidents.
6. Have complete knowledge of emergency procedures appropriate for the individual site to ensure the safety of the children and staff.
7. Attend all staff meetings, and training sessions.
8. Plan, supervise, and implement the program in accordance with the goals of the YMCA School Age Care as well as the licensing rules for the State of Wisconsin.
9. Effectively communicate with parents, District Staff, and YMCA staff.
10. Follow and maintain policies as outlined in the Y BASE manual, Employee Handbook and State Licensing guidelines.
11. Manage all materials and supplies needed for planned activities and maintain quality of supplies, materials, and equipment.
12. Possess excellent time management skills.
13. Uphold and exemplify the principles of the YMCA of Greater Waukesha County.

1. The Y BASE Site Supervisor shall be at least 18 years of age and shall meet one of the following criteria:
2. Have at least 1 years of supervisory or experience in a Licensed Childcare program; or Have a bachelor's degree in education, recreation, social work, psychology, or child development; or Have a Wisconsin Registry Level of 12 or higher.
3. Previous experience in childcare or education is preferred.
4. Must act as a first responder during emergencies (training provided).
5. Possess the ability to guide, direct and supervise personnel, and plan and/or conduct a variety of educational programs.
6. The ability to communicate both orally and in writing is required.
7. Must express a sincere interest in children, comprehend their needs, and support staff in their interactions with children.
8. Able to provide mature leadership to Y BASE staff as well as parents.
9. Must have understanding, patience, creativity, cooperative spirit, common sense, spiritual depth, and commitment to working with school age children.
10. Ability to work in and with diverse populations.
11. Exhibit the core values of caring, respect, honesty, and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.
12. Must have a current driver's license and reliable transportation.
13. Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the Camp & Y BASE Director.
