Job Description
Position Purpose:

This position will support individuals in the engineering and quality departments and report to the engineering manager.  Primary activities will include organization and execution of administrative and technical duties required to support the engineering department, including but not limited to dimensional inspection, creation and modification of bills and routings, and process auditing and documentation.  This work will be an essential element of ensuring that Castalloy’s products meet or exceed customer requirements.

Job Functions:

Conduct dimensional inspection of castings, machined parts and/or assemblies, using tools such as a portable CMM, (Coordinate Measuring Machine) calipers, height gages and tape measures and verify conformance to engineering drawings. Create process routings and bills of material or update existing as needed. Observe workers operating equipment or performing tasks to determine operation rates and process improvement opportunities. Perform process audits, comparing process documentation with actual observations and completing audit reports to detail the findings. With direction from quality or engineering, analyze castings and/or machined parts for defects and create charts and graphs to display findings. Participate in maintaining Castalloy’s ISO 9001 program, conducting ISO audits as assigned and creating or revising documentation as directed.

Job Specifications:

Requires a high school diploma or GED and 5-7 years of related experience or a college degree and 1-3 years of experience. Abitlity to write reports, business correspondence and personnel policies and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, executives and other employees of the organization. Require good communication and negotiation skills. Good organizational skills and ability to balance many different projects at a time. Ability to calculate figures and amounts. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Strong comupter skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office. Ability to readh and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
