Our client a manufacturer of signs and safety equipment is adding to its team and seeking an Electrical Assembler. The key to this role is to is to ensure that customers receive finished products per the sales order. This position assembles and packs solar panels, solar controllers, battery packs, chargers, kits, mechanical items, Light bars, and electrical controllers. The position operates within a cell work environment where standardized work, Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles are practiced.
Responsibilities:
Follows engineer drawings to ensure the correct parts are pulled and used
Builds standard sub-assembly orders according to standards and documentation
Complete appropriate paperwork associated with assembly orders and other responsibilities
Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
Participates in cell changeovers from part to part
Learns Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles and practices them on a daily basis
Conducts regular 5S audits and quality audits and checks
Communicates with Cell/Team Leader, Planner and Management as required
Qualifications
1+ years of experience building basic mechanical and/or electrical assemblies.
Able to read and interpret electronic and mechanical work instructions, drawings & schematics
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all unites of measure (whole numbers, fractions, decimals).
Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team-based/Cell environment.
Must be dependable and detail oriented.
Willing to be trained, learn and accept feedback.
Capable of lifting 70 lbs. on occasion and 30 lbs. consistently.
Able to learn Lean Manufacturing and 5S principals.
Prefer someone who is knowledgeable about Electronics (OMS law, AC/DC, Voltage/Amps, solar controls).
Mechanical abilities are considered a plus.
Must possess finger and hand dexterity – experience working with small parts.
Must have the ability to stand, stoop, bend and twist for long periods of time.
Must be open to working overtime on occasion depending on customer’s orders (some Saturday work).
